No-KYC Hosting: What It Means and What It Does Not

No-KYC hosting means no identity documents at checkout — but it is not the same as anonymous hosting. Here is the honest breakdown.

01

What KYC is and why hosts ask for it

KYC — Know Your Customer — is the process of collecting government-issued identification, proof of address and sometimes a selfie to verify a customer's identity. Traditional hosting providers and payment processors collect KYC to comply with anti-money-laundering regulations and to manage chargeback risk.

When you pay with crypto, the chargeback risk disappears entirely — on-chain payments are irreversible. And because Afiahost is a hosting provider, not a financial institution, the AML rules that apply to banks and exchanges do not apply to the hosting transaction itself. This is why crypto-paid hosting can skip the identity collection that card-paid hosting requires.

What no-KYC means at Afiahost

When you buy hosting from Afiahost with crypto, we do not ask for your passport, driver's license, utility bill or a photo of your face. The checkout form asks for two things: an email address for account communication and a domain name for your website. That is the full identity requirement.

The payment is a cryptocurrency transfer from your wallet. The transaction is recorded on the blockchain with a wallet address, not your name. We do not store your wallet private keys, and we do not link the wallet address to a personal identity profile.

03

What no-KYC does not mean

No-KYC does not mean anonymous or lawless hosting. Afiahost enforces an acceptable-use policy on every account regardless of payment method. If an account sends spam, hosts malware, distributes copyrighted material or engages in abuse, it is suspended — the fact that it was paid with crypto does not change this.

No-KYC also does not mean zero logs. We log server access, abuse complaints and support interactions because running reliable hosting infrastructure requires it. What we do not do is collect identity documents you would not voluntarily share with any online service — your passport is not relevant to hosting a website.

04

When you might want no-KYC hosting

No-KYC hosting appeals to several groups: developers in regions where ID documents are difficult to obtain or where sharing them with foreign companies creates risk, privacy-conscious users who minimize their digital footprint, and anyone who simply prefers not to hand over identity documents for a routine online purchase.

For most users, no-KYC is a convenience rather than a necessity. You are not hiding from law enforcement by paying hosting with crypto — you are choosing a payment method that does not require identity collection as a side effect. The hosting itself is identical, and the AUP applies equally to every account.
