Paying Hosting Renewals With Crypto

Annual renewals work the same as your first invoice. Learn how crypto renewal billing works, what happens if you miss a payment, and how to plan ahead.

01

How renewals work

Before your billing term ends, Afiahost generates a renewal invoice for the same plan and term. The invoice is denominated in USD — the same price you paid originally — and you settle it with any supported coin. The process is identical to your first payment: pick a coin, get a locked rate for fifteen minutes, send from your wallet.

You can switch coins at renewal. If you paid with Bitcoin last year and want to pay with USDT this year, select USDT at the renewal invoice screen. The plan, price and term do not change — only the settlement currency does.

02

What happens if a renewal is late

If the renewal invoice is not paid by the due date, standard grace-period rules apply — the same as any hosting provider. You receive reminder emails before the term ends and after the due date. During the grace period your hosting stays active; after it, the account is suspended and eventually terminated.

Crypto payments do not change this timeline. The billing cycle is based on the invoice due date, not on-chain confirmation time, so paying early in the window is the simplest way to avoid any interruption.

03

Planning your annual crypto hosting budget

Because plan prices are fixed in dollars, you can calculate your annual hosting cost in crypto ahead of time using the current exchange rate. For stablecoin users (USDT, USDC) the amount is effectively fixed. For BTC, ETH or LTC, the token amount varies with the market — set aside slightly more than the current equivalent to absorb downward price movement before renewal.

If you are paying for multiple accounts or an agency, consider batching: a single USDT or USDC transfer for the total of several invoices keeps network fees to one transaction. Contact support to consolidate invoices before paying.
