This tutorial will teach you how to create a Subdomain. Subdomains are URLs for different sections of your web site. This tutorial will assume that you are logged into your cPanel. If you are having trouble doing that, please see the tutorial named "How to Login to cPanel".

On your cPanel main page, scroll down to the section called Domains. Find the Icon named Subdomains, and click on it. This will take you to the Subdomain main page. You will find a box titled Subdomains,

  1. Enter the prefix you want as a subdomain name in the text box "Subomain Name". In this example (support.itsmydemosite.com) we will enter a "support" as the prefix "Subdomain".
  2. When you place the cursor in the text box "Document Root", will be filled automatically the location of your subdomain. cPanel ® will automatically fill in the prefix that you entered in Step 1 above and add it to the directory. In this example will be filled with the "public_html / support".
You can change it according to your needs or desires, but in general this will be an automatic entry function.
  3. If the above is completed, click Create .
  4. The next display will indicate that you have successfully created a subdomain. Click Go Back to return to the previous page.
  5. When the page loads, you will see a table with your newly created subdomain containing the following information:
    • Subdomains - Contains the prefix that you created in Step 1 above.
    • Root Domain - This is the main domain that you create subdomains.
    • Document Root - It is the parent directory ("Document Root") that you created in Step 2.
    • Redirection - If you create a  Redirect for this subdomain, this column contains "redirected to SOME_WEBSITE". More information about this can be read on the article Manage Subdomain.
    • Actions - contains the following options
      • Manage Redirection - select this option to manage the transfer of subdomains.
      • Remove - select this to permanently delete the subdomain.
